Profile Blurb:

With an enthusiasm to deliver positive outcomes, a love for technology innovation and a belief that entrepreneurship is the path of the future, Gry always looks for interesting opportunities where she can apply and share her experience as a “chick” in the software and other tech industries.

After almost 30 years delivering solutions across industries, cultures and continents, Gry’s experience spans organisations with in-house, outsourced, offshore, virtual, and geographically separated teams, requiring a blend of intimate tactical and strategic engagement.

She feels she has found her niche and thrives when streamlining organisations for successful product innovation and development in organisations that strive encourage social change.

As co-founder and director of KinChip Systems, she is immersed in developing consumer facing technology and apps that help parents stay on top of their children’s health and development. At Telstra Health, Gry is driving the development of the Primary Care product, Communicare, that is used extensively to improve health outcomes in remote and rural Australia and in particular for indigenous communities.

Gry’s experience spans organisations with in-house, outsourced, offshore, virtual, and geographically separated teams, requiring a blend of intimate tactical and strategic engagement.

To complement her software background, Gry is a 2014 MBA graduate from UWA Business School, with focus on entrepreneurship & innovation, social impact, change & transformation, and leadership.

Gry’s flexibility, enthusiasm, adaptability, knowledge, accountability, and drive for results, allows me to think outside the box to define and develop organisations and processes that adapt to change.

Ever the willing mentor, Gry engages both at a personal and organisational level. She has been a mentor for WIMWA over several years, tutored at UWA, was part of the core team at Just Start IT, bringing entrepreneurship to high schools, is a member of Behind Closed Doors (a peer mentoring organisation) and is generally happy to sit down and have a yarn with anyone who needs a sounding board.

Catch Phrase:

If he can we can!

Speaking Experience/Aspirations:

Small Speaking events (Less than 50 attendees), Medium Speaking events (50-200), Discussion Groups, I would be interested in being contacted about Speaking at Events, I do Workshops, I would be interested in being contacted about being on a panel.

Whilst I have done a some speaking engagements, such as WIMWA, ACS-W and Telstra Health, I would love to reach a wider audience. I find that mentoring and public speaking challenge my thinking and expand my horizons.

I do a lot of writing and presentations for my business and consulting, and I would love to share my experiences and discoveries from a more personal perspective.

Key Notes:

  • Diversity and empowerment
  • Culturally and geographically diverse work environments
  • Technology as an enabler for positive social change and outcomes

Mentoring:

I am a mentor and would consider mentoring others, I would like to be a mentor to others, I would like to find a mentor.

I love to encourage and empower people to become the best they can be. I am in particular passionate about building up confidence in women and girls and I believe we need to bring the men and boys into the equation to do so…. Imagine if every young boy knew that his sister could do exactly what he can… and he would encourage her to be who she wants to be.
