Profile Blurb:

Once described as the person with molten hair from the hip cyberpunk future that never was, Charlie Francis is a queer nb trans masc programmer and game developer. They currently work for Mighty Games in Melbourne on Shooty Skies. In their spare time they make every effort to work on games that further queer, trans and mental health representation. They’re currently working on a few games on bipolar, looking after yourself and other mental health themes. On top of this they are very outspoken about their mental health and take every opportunity to normalise speaking about it.

Speaking Experience/Aspirations:

Professional Speaker (I have been paid for speaking at events), Frequent Panellist, Small Speaking events (Less than 50 attendees), Medium Speaking events (50-200), Large Speaking events (201-2000), Discussion Groups, I would be interested in being contacted about Speaking at Events, I would be interested in being contacted about being on a panel.

I have a lot of experience speaking on panels about mental health and games, I’ve spoken at GX, Avcon and multiple PAX’s about this and talked at Freeplay and Game On about how to take care of yourself while working on games.

My strengths are definitely in speaking in relation to mental health, whether it be playing games, working in the games industry or even working on games about mental health.

Other things I can talk about include programming, diverse representation in games and mental health representation in games.
